Let Me Introduce Myself - My Journey & Passion for Tourism

Hi there,

I’ve been floating about on here for 15+ years.

And I’ve never properly introduced myself…

I’m Ivan Ivanovic a 51-year-old AI Content consultant for tourism, born in former Yugoslavia (do you remember this country :), now Republic of Serbia.

I was raised in an entrepreneurial family as a third generation - grandfather, father, and me.

My father and cousins had multiple entrepreneurial ventures in which I was involved as a kid.

During my teenage and college years, I worked different jobs in hospitality, tourism, and media.

This is my story so far:

1998: Finished studies for tourism & hospitality

1999: Survived NATO bombing of my home country

2000: Worked in the hosteling industry in Budapest, Hungary

2001: Started a career as a TV journalist

2002: I got my first official job in the governmental sector in my formal education - hospitality & tourism, working in a destination management organization (10+ years)

2005: I started working in the civil sector, on numerous European Union projects & campaigns (15+ years) and realized several investment projects in tourism and hospitality with an investment of over 5M$.

2007: Co-founded with my wife, Sašenjka Meljnikov boutique marketing & branding agency (15+ years).

2008: Had my first son.

2010: Shifted to entrepreneurship only, after working in the governmental & civil sector, in our family agency

2011: Survived severe heart attack and kept on going

2016: Had my second son (still my first wife 🙂)

2023: Moved with my family in Budapest, Hungary

2024: Started with personal branding on LinkedIn.

And that's only the half of it!
